Timetable Taubertal 100


The Taubertal 100 takes place every year on the first weekend of October. The national holiday of the "Day of German Unity" offers a long weekend to enjoy this event with the family.

The route of the Taubertal 100 is easily reached by car via the "Romantic Road". All checkpoints are accessible by car.

Runners who stay the night in Wertheim or Gemünden can have their luggage transported from Rothenburg to Wertheim or Gemünden. Luggage can be handet in on Saturday from 5:00 a.m. until 5:15 a.m. in front of Hotel Rappen.

Runners taking part in the with the 50 km and 70 km may choose to travel onwards to Wertheim by train.


Back Transport:

A shuttle-bus is available to transport runners back to Rothenburg from the finish of each race distance from the railway station.

50 km (2:00 p.m.) 

70 km (5:00 p.m.) 

100 km (8:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at 10:00 a.m.) and 

100 miles on Sunday (3:00 p.m.)


Onward Transport:

50km runner with finish in Bad Mergentheim and 70km runner with finish in Tauberbischofsheim can use hourly a train to travel to Wertheim.


Award Cremony:

The castle restaurant offers food a`la carte but you can attend without ordering any food at all.

The award celebration in Wertheim is on Saturday 9 p.m. in the castle, and for 100 mile runners on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in Gemünden Hotel Schäffer.

The lunch in Gemünden will be held on Sonday at 12 noon in Hotel Schäffer.

100 Mile profile: 105 m nett downhill, Summery 990 m up and 1.095 m down

100 km profile: 205 m nett downhill, Summery 570 m up and 775 m down

70 km profile: 165 m nett downhill, Summery 320 m up and 485 m down

50 km profile: 135 m nett downhill, Summery 260 m up and 395 m down

The start is at the "Eiswiese" on the Taubertalweg. The 50, 70, 100 km and 100-mile runners start together.

20 checkpoints in total in the 100 km, and 26 in the 100 miles

10 Checkpoints with food and drinks, situated every 10 km
10 Checkpoints with drinks only, situated every 5 km up to 100 km
after 100 km there are checkpoints every 10 km with food and drinks

Mineralwater, apple juice, tea, beer, electrolytes

Food stations:

Time Limits:

50 km:

A running time of 7:30 hours for 50 km to Bad Mergenthem

1:30 p.m. is cut-off for all runners in Bad Mergentheim. The first runners will be expected after 2:50 hours at Saturday around 8:50 a.m. and the last runner at 1:30 p.m.

70 km:

A running time of 10:30 hours to Tauberbischofsheim   

4:30 p.m. is cut-off for all runners in Tauberbischofsheim. The first runners will be expected after 4:50 hours at Saturday around 10:50 a.m. and the last runner at 4:40 p.m.

100 km:

A running time of 15:00 hours to Wertheim

9:00 p.m. is cut-off for all runners in Wertheim. The first runners will be expected after 7 hours at Saturday around 1:00 a.m. and the last runner at 9:00 p.m.

100 miles (161 km):

A running time of 26 hours to Gemünden

8:00 a.m. is cut-off for 100 miles in Gemünden. The first runners will be expected after 13 hours at Saturday around 7:00 p.m. and the last runner at Sunday 8:00 a.m.

Runners who exceed any of the cut-off times will be disqualified.


Running speed:

100 km in 7:00 hours: 4:12 min/km or 14.29 km/h and in 15:00 hours: 9:00 min/km or 6.67 km/h

100 miles (161 km) in 13:00 hours: 4:51 min/km or 12.37 km/h

100 miles (161 km) in 26:00 hours: until 100 km: 9:00 min/km or 6.67 km/h and from 100 km until 161 km: 11 min/km or 5.55 km/h
